I am so excited to share with you my all time favorite foundation. I use this almost everyday and I now get why this has been everyone’s holy grail. This one really has gotten me through humid days, sweat, long day trips, and so much more without having to do any touchups.

How I Discovered This Foundation

I have always been the type to wear bb and cc creams, or very minimal face makeup. I decided I needed to have a good go-to foundation for when I have an important event and want to look cute in photos.

I actually found out about this Estée Lauder foundation from a friend of mine who really loved it and recommended it to me. We went to Macy’s together to get a sample and I loved it, but the shade didn’t completely match my skin, so I went to Sephora to get a shade match, and got another sample. The sample only gave me 2 days of wear until I ran out, so I went to Nordstrom to get a sample to make sure that this really was my shade.

After realizing this is now my 3rd time getting a sample, I knew it was time to bite the bullet and invest in a higher end foundation. I was used to buying drugstore brands, so this was a big deal!

In these photos, I’m wearing the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation (alone, with no setting powder) as a concealer on under eye area, nose, and chin where I have my acne scarring.

Why I Love It

I absolutely LOVE this foundation. It is super long lasting and looks very natural on my skin. I ended up replacing my Fenty Match Stix concealer that I used to wear everyday with this because it was much easier to apply and didn’t give me raccoon eyes.

I have a problem where my mascara tends to transfer onto my under eye area after a couple of hours if the product is more oily or has a more dewy finish. This foundation sets matte, but feels like I’m wearing nothing. For daily use, I wear the Double Wear Foundation as a “concealer” on my under eye area, my nose, on my acne scars under my lip area, and *sometimes* on a small section of my cheeks where it’s red.

This product is so great because it acts as both a foundation AND concealer for me. Even though people wear a slightly lighter shade for concealers, I found that this did a great job at covering my dark circles and redness. It claims to have a 24-hour-wear, which I never personally wore for 24 hours, but I have worn this from 8am to past 10pm and it still looks like I just applied it. I’ve worn this on hot summer days when I get that upper lip sweat, splashing around in pools, waterparks, it is honestly waterproof for me.

Recommendations

I loved Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Foundation so much that I recommended it to my sister and we both went through one bottle each and are both on our second bottle right now.

You can definitely achieve a more natural everyday look and also a more full coverage look since it layers very nicely. I usually apply this with a makeup sponge (real techniques is my favorite), but I’ve also applied it using only my fingers (when I forgot my sponge at home during a trip) and it set flawlessly both ways.

I recommend getting the foundation pump with this because it’ll make your life so much easier and less wasteful since you can control how much comes out without worrying about over pouring and spilling everywhere.
